The drive is fairly straightforward. It's completely Plug&Play on all computers and performs well reading and writing. The USB cable has an extra plug to draw extra power from another USB port and it's long enough to use on my 2013 Macbook Pro, but this seems to be unnecessary in all the computers I've used it on so far.
My only gripe is a small one. The top casing is quite thin and flexible. The first few times I went to push the drive tray back in, my natural tendency was to push with my thumb and rest my fingers on the top to keep the drive from sliding away. This deforms the opening of the case, stopping the tray from closing. So now I hold the drive from the back. Like I said, it's a minor problem, which might make closing the drive a two handed operation for people with smaller hands.

Hi I wan' t to buy a Blu Ray reader to rip my Blu Ray and saw it directly via Boxee Box or other media player software. I don' t need to write disk with that drive.
